Is Your Checkout Page Killing Your Business? (Let's Fix It)
Stop losing customers at the 1-yard line. Here's why 70% of people leave and how you can make them stay.

The Most Stressful Part of Your Store
You've done everything right. You've got the ads running, you've answered questions on Messenger, and now someone is actually on your checkout page. This is it.
And then... nothing. They leave.
If this happens to 70% of your visitors, don't feel bad. It's the industry average. But just because it's "normal" doesn't mean you should accept it. Here is how I simplified checkouts to actually see those orders roll in.
1. The "Guest" is King
Stop forcing people to create an account. Seriously. In Bangladesh, people just want to buy their stuff and leave. They don't want to remember another password. Let them checkout as a guest. You can always ask them to save their details *after* the order is confirmed.
2. If You Don't Need It, Don't Ask
Every single box they have to fill out is a reason for them to close the tab.
- Do you really need their middle name? No.
- Do you need their Fax number? Of course not.
- Do you need their email? Honestly, in BD, a phone number is 10x more valuable.
Keep it simple: Name, Phone, and Address. That's it.
3. Shipping Surprises (The Conversion Killer)
Nothing makes a customer leave faster than seeing an extra 100-200 TK added at the very last second.
Be upfront. If you have shipping costs, mention them on the product page or clearly at the start of the checkout. Better yet, build the shipping cost into the price and offer "Free Shipping." It works psychological magic.
4. Mobile is Not Optional
Most of your customers are buying on a mobile phone, likely with one hand while doing something else. If your buttons are too small or the fields are hard to tap, you've already lost. Test your checkout on the slowest phone you can find. If it's hard there, it's hard for everyone.
The Secret Weapon: Data Capture
Even a perfect checkout won't catch everyone. Someone might get a call, their internet might cut out, or the baby might start crying.
That's why we built FollowUp. It captures the name and number as they type. So even if they don't click "Order Now," you can still reach out and say, *"Hey, notice you got stuck. Can I help?"*
It's the safety net your business deserves.
Conclusion
Your checkout isn't a form; it's an experience. If you make it fast, honest, and easy, people will buy. Start by removing just one unnecessary field today and watch what happens.
